The young team of developers at Ameya Solutions, company that provides cost efficient solutions based on the customer's specifications, came up with the netProfileManager application to meet a very specific user need – the need to easily and rapidly switch from one network configuration to another. You can set up profiles for different network configurations and very easily switch between the profiles.

The netProfileManager installation file is quite small, smaller than 1MB, so getting it onto your computer will take but a moment. Run the installation file, hit Install when presented with the prompt, and in a second netProfileManager will be ready to use.

The left hand side of netProfileManager’s interface focuses on the profiles you created; there’s a dropdown menu that shows your profiles, and a section that presents some info on a selected profile. The right hand side of the interface focuses on creating profiles. You can choose a name for your profile, adapter, enter some IP and DNS settings or use DHCP for IP and DNS settings.

You can activate a profile from netProfileManager’s interface by selecting a profile from the aforementioned dropdown menu and hitting the Apply button. Or better yet, you can do so from the netProfileManager system tray icon. While netProfileManager is running, it puts an icon in the system tray; right click the system tray icon and easily switch from one profile to another.

You can use netProfileManager on Windows XP and any newer version of the Microsoft-developed OS and you can use it for free. Do note that you need to have .NET Framework for netProfileManager to work.

netProfileManager is a free application that does just what it says: it lets you set up and easily switch between network configuration profiles.

Pros

The netProfileManager installation file is quite lightweight. Takes little time to install the application on Windows XP or newer. Create profiles for various network configurations and easily switch between the profiles. netProfileManager is freeware.

Cons

You can’t select the installation directory nor can you choose not to create a desktop shortcut.
